Summit CountyAkronArrestsA Sumatra Avenue man, 28, was charged with aggravated burglary, assault and menacing. He is accused of forcing his way into a Winhurst Drive residence, assaulting a resident and threatening to kill the victim.An Anderson Avenue man, 31, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon illegally. He is accused of resisting arrest when police found him intoxicated.A Second Avenue man, 18, was charged with robbery and felonious assault after police said he and an accomplice punched a man in the face, knocked him out and broke his jaw. The two are accused of taking the man’s iPhone and a woman’s purse.An East Glenwood Avenue man, 29, was charged with domestic violence, domestic violence menacing, child endangering and criminal damaging. Police said he has a conviction for domestic violence in 2009.A Tarson Terrace man, 41, was charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and kidnapping. Police said he knocked out someone with a punch, pulled the victim into a car, drove to another location and stole another’s belongings.A Tallmadge View Avenue man, 37, was charged with willful fleeing, child endangering, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. He is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase with four children in his car.An Elma Street woman, 35, was charged with domestic violence, domestic violence menacing and aggravated menacing. Police said she has a conviction for domestic violence from August 2008.A Danmead Avenue man, 23, was charged with forgery. He is accused of trying to cash a $400 check on an account that had been closed because of identity theft.A 27-year-old man from North Thomas Road, Tallmadge, was charged with robbery and assault. He is accused of running up a tab at the Varsity Bar and Grill, then trying to pay with a credit card that was declined. He is accused of trying to leave without paying and fighting with a bouncer who tried to stop him.A Fouse Avenue man, 52, was charged with burglary after a Clyde Avenue homeowner allegedly discovered him breaking into a home. Police charged him with receiving stolen property after finding items missing from another home on Fouse Avenue.A Bachtel Avenue man, 19, was charged with aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property. He is accused of robbing a man at gunpoint, fleeing in a stolen SUV, wrecking the vehicle and running away. Police reported finding the victim’s wallet inside the SUV.A Bertha Avenue man, 47, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He is accused of having another person’s vehicle without permission and refusing to return it.A Sherman Street woman, 44, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing. Police said she was walking with two males on South Arlington Street who had stolen items from Walgreens. She is accused of starting to pull a knife from her waistband. Coventry TownshipTheftSummit County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an Aug. 5 report that $1,000 was stolen from the Olde Harbor Inn on Portage Lakes Drive.Cuyahoga FallsArrestsA Seibel Drive man, 28, was charged with burglary Aug. 10 after officers reported finding him inside a home in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue.A Third Street man, 26, was charged with breaking and entering Aug. 13. A woman reported seeing three people break the glass door to a business in the 2100 block of Front Street. She told officers she watched two men run toward the Cuyahoga River, where officers arrested one man. The owner reported $620 in property damage and theft. TheftsA 2008 Toyota was reported stolen Aug. 12 from the 2100 block of Pinebrook Trail. Police said the keys were left in the car.A handgun was reported stolen Aug. 11 from the 1500 block of 13th Street. A 16-year-old from Market Street Southwest in Canal Fulton was charged with burglary, vandalism and abusing harmful intoxicants.A Hampshire Road woman, 46, was charged with assault Aug. 5. She is accused of spraying a chemical in a neighbor’s face during a quarrel over weed poisoning.Breaking and enteringA Canal Fulton man told police Aug. 4 that someone stole his $1,000 power washer from a barn on Cleveland-Massillon Road.Springfield TownshipArrestsA 21-year-old woman from Redbush Road, Akron, was charged with forgery and receiving stolen property July 11. She is accused of using someone else’s credit card to make purchases at International House of Pancakes and Walmart on South Arlington Road, then throwing the card under a car in the Walmart parking lot.A 15-year-old boy from Meadow Spring Circle was charged with punching his stepfather three times during a quarrel.A Hilbish Avenue teen was charged with domestic violence Aug. 9. She is accused of slapping her father and throwing dishes at his car.A 25-year-old woman from Fochett Road, Medina, was charged with telephone harassment and menacing Aug. 7. She is accused of sending threatening texts and voice messages to a Pickle Road resident.TheftsA watch, 28 Xbox games and other items worth a total of $9,680 were reported stolen Aug. 4 from a Mohican Boulevard home.A Suffield Township woman said her purse and other items worth a total of $1,218 were stolen from a car parked Aug. 1 outside 777 Sweeps on Canton Road.TallmadgeTheftsThree loaded handguns, jewelry and a television were reported stolen Aug. 11 from the 700 block of Northeast Avenue. Reports said someone kicked in the door to a duplex and ransacked the home.A chrome 1991 Dodge Ram truck was reported stolen Aug. 11 from the 1100 block of Newton Street.VandalismFour businesses on Erie Drive were vandalized and looted between 11:15 and 11:25 p.m. Aug. 9. The manager of Edward Jones reported the door to the building was unlocked but nothing appeared to be stolen. Next door, someone threw a rock through a front window of UB Tan and stole a laptop computer and $7. The owner of the Golden Place, next to UB Tan, said someone broke in and stole $40 and a laptop computer. The owner of Romeo’s Pizza reported that someone threw a large chunk of wood through a front window and pushed a safe out a back door but was unable to open it. He also is accused of breaking one phone and stealing another.A Valley Drive Northwest boy, 15, was charged with theft and breaking and entering July 21. She is accused of striking a sheriff’s deputy twice as two officers tried to escort her home for her own safety after seeing her trying to cross 38th Street Northwest.A Kaiser Avenue Northeast man, 40, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 10. He is accused of grabbing his wife by the arms and throwing her to the floor.A Long Avenue Northeast man, 43, was arrested Aug. 9 on a domestic violence warrant.A Hillridge Avenue Northeast man was charged with domestic violence Aug. 9, accused of pushing his ex-wife down stairs during a quarrel.Wayne CountyWayne sheriffBurglariesA flat-screen television valued at $330 was taken Aug. 14 from a camper in the 4400 block of Prairie Lane Road, Franklin Township.Ten rings worth a total of $3,300 were taken July 31 from a home in the 7500 block of East Sterling Road, Milton Township.
